The late Raphael Nahari

תשמ”ט – תשפ”ג

The late Raphael was a relatively new volunteer in the organization Zaka Tel Aviv, but he witnessed greatness, he arrived imbued with a spirit of action and giving, being also a volunteer at Magan David Adom and other organizations. He soon became an integral part of the cohesive and unique team in his beloved city of Herzliya.

Rafael was orphaned by his parents at a young age, after he grew up and married he did not receive a viable seed for 12 years, then his firstborn and only son was born, when he died he was only three months old. A chilling life story.

On the day of his death, Y. in Zion Tashpag (30.05.2023) he was riding his motorcycle with his brother Shivlahta riding behind him, on road 4613 near Bnei Atarot, a commercial vehicle driver Eral Lev made a sudden U-turn in a prohibited place and Rafael did not have time to brake. He was evacuated in critical condition to Tel Hashomer where he was pronounced dead.

The ZAKA Tel Aviv team, which as usual went to the hospital to assist in the treatment of a victim of M.D., was shocked when he found out that it was a volunteer member of the organization.

Zaka’s announcement on the day of the disaster:
“We are shocked and appalled by the tragic passing of our dear volunteer friend, the late Raphael Nahari – the Herzliya team, who was killed a short time ago in T.D. deadly Just last night he dealt with the kindness of Emet at an event in Herzliya. Our condolences to his dear family and to all his friends and acquaintances, Emet’s kindness activity for this week is dedicated to the uplifting of his soul.”

The message after the funeral:
grieving and hurting; Crowds accompanied the man of kindness, the late Rabbi Raphael Nahari, a volunteer of the Zaka Tel Aviv organization, who was killed in a fatal shooting. The organization’s volunteers accompanied the family from the moment of the disaster, at the hospital, at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, during the transfer of the deceased and the burial of the dead.

At the funeral that took place in the city where Elad lived, they paid tribute to him; The mayor of Herzliya Moshe Padlon, where he lived in the past and was a member of the local zakat mitzvot led by Eran Kozachi. Mayor Elad Israel Parosh, rabbi of the Institute of Forensic Medicine Rabbi Asher Landau, who recognized the act of kindness of truth and sin because Torah begins with kindness to the living and ends with the kindness of burying the dead , Raphael held both of them and the Holy One blessed him by his side. On behalf of the Zaka Tel Aviv organization, board member Rabbi Moshe Gafni gave the eulogy, describing the great deeds of the deceased and from whom we can all learn. The eulogy was also done by Rabbi Moshe Garshi in Herzliya, whose congregation the deceased was in.

The Zaka Tel Aviv organization bows its head in mourning. Notices of mourning and pain have been hung outdoors and all charity activities on Shabbat days are dedicated to his memory and lifting his soul. May his memory be blessed.
