ZAKA is a volunteer-based social organization, bringing together any person who wishes to contribute to the community, regardless of religion, gender, or race, from Israel and from around the world.
The Organization offers a variety of volunteering options, some of which are unique and challenging. Our core activity involves responding to disasters and ensuring the last dignitiy of the deceased. This task isn't for everybody, which is why we appreciate you joining us.

Handling natural and unnatural deaths outside a medical facility. Assisting emergency forces and first responders at the scene and providing a last dignity to the deceased.
Minimum conditions: Married. Preferably a vehicle owner; former Military Burial Unit soldiers or Hevra Kadisha employees.
Volunteering in this field requires dedication and willingness to respond to incidents at unpredictable times.

Jeep Unit
The unit is involved in search and rescue. Off-road vehicle owners preferred.
The Unit operates on an on-call basis in cases where an elderly, a child, or a sick person is missing and their life may be at risk.

Divers Unit
Underwater rescue unit. Volunteers should have a diving certificate - Advanced Open Water or higher. Divers with their own diving gear who undergone periodic personal training preferred.

Brothers in Need Charity
Assisting grieving families with equipment for the Shiv'ah.
Drug Collection Project - Collecting medicine from the homes of deceased persons and transporting them to a sorting facility.

Assisting at Casualty Concentration Stations and offering logistic assistance to the municipality and Home Front Command in emergencies.
