ZAKA Tel Aviv has been recognized as an operator of civil or defense service. During their service, servants serve in different capacities: ZAKA Base Operator. Volunteer Coordinator. Ambulance Driver, and more. They serve as a force multiplier for the Organization in providing essential services to the public.

Role of servants:

Civil Service servants have a range of options and roles:

    • Volunteer Base Operator
    • Dispatch
    • Ambulance Driver
    • Volunteer Coordinator
    • Equipment Room Manager

Benefits / advantages while in service (by law):

 

    • Professional training.
    • Sustenance fees of NIS 3,848 for married servants with at least one child and NIS 3,214 for married servants.
    • 22 days’ leave.
    • Exemption from city tax (Arnona).
    • Eligibility for free medical treatment at Terem clinic, upon presentation of a Civil National Service servant.
    • Free public transit travel nationwide (except Eilat).
    • Free dental care (except complex treatments provided at a nominal fee).
    • Discharge grant in the amount of NIS 9,000 and deposit of NIS 13,440.
    • Exemption from National Insurance contributions.
    • Assistance with day care.

Eligibility Conditions:

 

    • Candidate recognized as a religious student, married or single, aged 21 or older.
    • Ages 21-28.
    • Good health.
    • No criminal record.
    • Not for Cohens. 
    • Two years’ driver’s license holders with no traffic violations record preferred.

Scope of Service:

Servants work 36 hours per week for approximately two years. In general, service takes place in the morning (start and finish times are somewhat flexible to offer greater convenience to the servant). Training during the service period.
