Search and Rescue Jeep Unit

ZAKA volunteers are ready to assist in any case of a missing person who is sick, elderly, or a child. A highly-trained special unit made up of 4X4 vehicle owners and owners of other off-road vehicles makes up the Jeep Unit. Its members have undergone special training and exercises in the field of search and rescue. The unit includes a trained investigative team, a command post team, team leaders, and a roster of trained volunteers.
The unit stands out in its ability to conduct searches in challenging terrain, at beaches, in woodlands, valleys, and ravines. The unit has ample designated equipment, including a state-of-the-art command post, radios, and personal equipment for each

The Unit is commanded by Golan Habani, phone: 053-4556445

Divers Unit

Increasing drownings, global climate change, weather disruptions in Israel and around the world, and unusual floods (such as those in Germany, New York, and Tel Aviv) raise the critical need for rescue units which specialize in water bodies and which can respond in real time.
Some 250 drownings take place in Israel each year, most of which at beaches in central Israel. Some drowning cases have required marine search and rescue operations.
Additional incidents have required underwater searches (including water wells and rivers) looking for vehicles or other objects related to criminal activities or to missing person searches.

The Divers Unit comprises approximately 80 volunteers, of whom 60 are some of the most senior and experienced divers in Israel. Many unit members have already assisted in real-time incidents. Unit volunteers include: the Director General of a government ministry, a candidate for the director of a government agency, Diving Authority inspector and Israel's Chief Instructor for Underwater Search and Rescue, senior diving instructors, doctors, EMTs, tech workers, lawyers, business owners and employees.
Men and women, Jews and Arabs all make up the Unit's volunteers - showcasing the fabric of the Israeli society.
The size of the unit (especially in comparison to other similar units) offers flexibility: the unit can respond to several incidents simultaneously and also support the operations of other units.
The unit can cover relatively large areas and/or cases where the exact place of disappearance is unknown, such as the Mediterranean and the like.

The Unit commander is Roee Liberman, Esq., phone: 050-7739119
